Security work grounded
in how systems run.
Frosted Logic turns complex trust and control decisions into architecture your team can understand, test, and operate.
Independent practice
Richard McMillan
I work with teams building software, AI workflows, and infrastructure that need clearer boundaries and more predictable behavior. My approach starts with the real workflow: who has authority, what crosses between components, and what happens when a check fails.
That analysis becomes a practical scope of work: map the system, test the assumptions, prioritize the controls, and document the decisions so others can carry them forward. If a question needs deeper specialist testing, the scope should say so plainly.
Security philosophy
Trust deliberately.
Enforce predictably.
Keep systems understandable.
Trust deliberately. Make permissions and dependencies explicit. Know where authority starts and stops.
Enforce predictably. Put controls at the point of action and define what happens when they fail.
Keep systems understandable. Leave the next person able to trace and challenge a decision.

Bring the hard question.
Describe the workflow, the uncertainty, and the decision in front of you. We can identify a useful first step together.
